Hometown Disposal Donates Over $15,000 to Local Organizations
As the smoke has finally settled over North Springfield, we at Hometown Disposal are very humbled by the work we did at Rock’n Rib BBQ Festival. Each year the Rotary Clubs of Springfield host Rock’n Ribs to raise money for 7 different local children’s charities, including: The YMCA, Good Samaritans Boys Ranch, Ozark Trails Council, Harmony House, Boys and Girls Town, Great Circle, and the Ronald McDonald Tooth Truck. All of these organization do great things to enrich the lives of our youth here in the Ozarks and we are very proud to make our contribution to them.
Several years ago while attending Rock’n Ribs we saw how horrible the portable restrooms were and knew that we could improve the quality of the porta potties at the event, as well as the efficiency of the trash disposal. After meeting with some of the members from the executive committee in hopes of landing a new paying gig, we found the true meaning of Rock’n Ribs and became a sponsor. Hometown Disposal now provides and services all of the portable restrooms throughout the entire event. Providing our portable restrooms, which are used only for events, increased the quality overall of the event. Patrons of any event like the comfort of knowing they will walk into a porta potty that is clean and stocked with paper. In addition we provide ADA Compliant portable restroom and hand wash stations. A sea of orange also appears with our trash carts scattered around the entire event. Bringing our carts to the event eased the work load for the children that volunteer for the event. Before Hometown Disposal the kids would have to carry and drag the cardboard box trash cans to a 20 yard roll off container, then somehow figure out how to get it over the 4 foot sides of the roll off. We decided bringing our compactor truck on location and directly emptying the carts when needed would make it hassle free. Boy were we right.
This was the 4th year for Hometown Disposal to provide a sponsorship for Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival. Through the years we have grown a huge heart for this event. This event is a lot of work for our staff and many of them work throughout the entire weekend then have to return to a full work week on Monday. We have a wonderful crew and appreciate all of the hard work they do during this event.
Hometown Disposal contributed to several other charitable events over the last couple of months as well. We provided portable restrooms and trash containers for the Police Officer Association ride for Officer Aaron Pearson, portable restrooms for The Child Advocacy Center’s Burgers and Cheers, and portable restrooms for Hailey’s Heroes Benefit Ride.
